Default X1950Pro AGP Crashes after 9 months

Hi

I got my video card in march 2007, and I had no problems... everything was fine until a week ago... I didn't touched a thing in hardware or software during these months... I didn't changed a single application...

some days ago, after 2 or 3 hours of a game session, I got a freeze screen with some pink lines on the monitor and I noticed the video card fan turning like crazy after the crash... some seconds of that and the pc rebooted... then my pc goes well till next day... I didn't care about that...

but from that day the crashes occours more often and earlier... the second day I had 2 crashes... actually, after 7 days, I can use my windows for a few minutes before the crash, also if I don't touch the mouse or the keyboard... and the crash occurs immediately if I try to load a game or a video application...

I changed the video card with my old Asus 6800 GT... and miracle... everything goes well... I can finally use my PC again

I've read everything in the sticky threads, I use a 420w Thermaltake Silent Power Supply, I know is not the best choise, but my problems was born suddenly, after almost 10 months of a perfect life... and I didnt' changed a thing in my setup or my windows...

what it should be?

tnx all

(sorry for bad english)

well if you had read the Box the card came in, it clearly states the minimum spec for the PSU, Wattage and more important the amount of Ampere you'd need on 12v rail (30a continues).
now you have run for 10 months on a overworked PSU and a underpowered system, and it finally gave up,
so by saving yourself a 100bucks,
you now are presented with a much bigger bill, prob. a ruined V.Card/psu and who knows what else..
and the only one you can blame is yourself.
and no need to say 'i didn't know,
if you're smart enough to replace a Vcard, you're also smart enough to inform yourself before you buy something
but on the bright side.. you're not the only one, the threads are numerous on that subject here.
