overheating gpu
Hi all,
I bought a x800xt about 11mo ago from newegg. It has worked fine for the last 11 months, but the last day my comp locks up when gaming, sometimes with wierd graphics bugs. I brought up the therm after one of these and saw my card was at 74C. The thing is the fam seems to be running on it. Any advice?
Should I just try and send this back?
my x850xt pe runs at 70 under full load, whitch isnt overheating...but if its crashing then it may be to hot for that card...do you have any third party programs (like ATI Tray Tool) to show you the fan speed settings? Mine were set extremly low from the factory...didnt go up to 100 percent fan untill 98 degrees
By default my card runs at 13%... Not nearly enough to cool the beast! I personally like the ATT due to the fact that it runs on less resources than the other tweek programs. Look for the "Random Lockups" post for the links. Any other problems... Get back to us. Also, it would be very helpful to the forum if you could setup your sig like the Blind Man and myself.

or put a box fan next to you computer with its side case open. (that will keep you at about 64c under full load, as long as your vga stock fan is running max)
just got a reply from sapphire re my temps being as high as yours, they said the temps are fine
I am using ATI Tool Tray. I am getting readings of Enviornment 54C and GPU 60C w/ fan at 100%. I am using X800 Pro. Anything to be concerned about? These are idle temps. Also, I have read several posts that say to connect the cable from the card to the power supply and to the hard drive. I could only hook up from card to power supply....my hard drive does not have the proper connection.
60 degrees at idle dosent seem right...mine runs at about 42 at idle.
